Anne holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours, and an Honours Degree in Health Sciences (Honours in Obstetrics and Gynaecology) from the University of Adelaide. Anne also completed a Graduate Certificate in Commercialisation of Science and Technology through the University of Adelaide.

Anne completed Articles at a leading commercial law firm in Melbourne, being admitted to Practice in Victoria in 2003. Anne practised as a lawyer in the Intellectual Property, Patent and Trade Marks Attorneys, and Corporate and Commercial departments.

Prior to joining FAL, Anne worked in Johannesburg, RSA and Norwich, UK for a number of years, in positions including Commercialisation Manager for the University of East Anglia.

Relevant experience

  • advising on, negotiating and drafting commercial agreements (deal-specific and template agreements);
  • advising on intellectual property identification, protection and commercialisation (including patents, trade marks, copyright, software and trade secrets);
  • advising on, negotiating and drafting arrangements for joint ventures, R&D collaborations and consortiums, contract R&D, sponsored studentships, visiting workers, intellectual property licensing and assignments, access to equipment, material transfer and confidential disclosure;
  • advising on the structuring and operation of intellectual property holding entities and commercialisation entities;
  • providing ongoing support to commercialisation companies in relation to meeting investor and shareholder obligations, directors duties, managing relationships and securing funding;
  • advising on and drafting institutional intellectual property policies, procedures and employment terms, including in relation to the identification, capture and protection of and reward for invention;
  • advising on grant applications, including provisions for intellectual property protection and commercialisation;
  • providing training workshops in relation to intellectual property and commercialisation; and
  • working with inventors and patent attorneys to identify and protect patentable inventions.
